TODAY’S MESSAGE

Completely Committed

Luke 14:25-33

 

To be fully committed means we must …

 

1.        Take up a cross

 

·         God says, “I am a jealous God.”

·         God wants to be first in our lives.

·         God expects us to love Him with our whole heart.

 

2.        Become a disciple

 

·         Discipleship is based on our relationships

·         Discipleship is based on our choices

·         Discipleship is based on our consecration

 

3.        Give up everything

 

·         We give up self

·         We give up our possessions

 

 

“Commitment, by its nature, frees us from ourselves and, while it stands us in opposition to some, it joins us with others similarly committed.  Commitment moves us from the mirror trap of the self absorbed with the self to the freedom of a community of shared values.”
