TODAY’S MESSAGE:

What Do You Do …

When Your World Is Falling Apart

 

1.        Release your grief

 

                What do you do with all your feelings?

·         Don’t …

Resist them

Rehearse them

Reduce them

Repress them

·         Instead …

Release them – Psalm 18:4-5; Psalm 62:8b

 

 

2.        Resist bitterness

 

“See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” (Hebrews 12:15, NIV)

 

                How do your resist bitterness?

·         Accept what cannot be changed

·         Focus on what is left, not loss

·         Play it down and pray it up

 

3.        Re-evaluate your life

               

“Watch out!  Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” Luke 12:15;

 

“For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.”  1 Timothy 6:7;

 

“What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? “ Matthew 16:26

 

 

4.        Receive help from others

 

“And have you forgotten that word of encouragement …” – Romans 12:5, NIV

 

 

5.        Rely on the Lord

 

                Five Inner Qualities from God

1)      You need peace               - Isaiah 28:3

2)      You need hope - Psalm 62:5

3)      You need courage - Psalm 3:3

4)      You need wisdom - Psalm 16:7

5)      You need strength - Isaiah 12:2

 

 

6.        Refuse to be discouraged

 

                “By standing firm you will save yourselves.” Luke 21:19
