TODAY’S MESSAGE:
Re-energize Your Life By
Refocusing Your Priorities
Matthew 6:33
A Change of Heart
What causes a Change
of Heart?
· Not pressure
· Not guilt
· Not time
Four Ingredients of Change
1.
I experience pain
“God sometimes uses sorrow in our lives to help us turn away from sin and seek eternal life.” (2 Corinthians 7:10, TLB)
“My troubles turned out all for the best – they forced me to learn from your textbook.” (Psalm 119:71, TM)
2.
I believe God wants what is best for me
“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” (Isaiah 48:17, NIV)
“May the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace as you trust in him.” (Romans 15:13a, NIV)
“Since God did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t God, who gave us Christ, also give us everything else.” (Romans 8:32, NLT)
“Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God bring the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (Romans 12:2, TM)
3.
I know God’s truth
“A wise person is hungry for truth, while the fool feeds on trash.” (Proverbs 15:14, NLT)
“Listen
carefully to wisdom,
set your mind on
understanding.
Cry out for wisdom, and
beg for understanding.
Search for it like
silver, and
hunt for it like hidden
treasure.
Then you will
understand respect for the Lord.
And you will find
that you know God.” (Proverbs 2:2-5, NCV)
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32, CEV)
4.
I do what God says
“Do the things that show you really have changed your hearts and lives.” (Matthew 3:8, NCV)
“Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it.” (Colossians 2:7, The Message)”
“Did you think that because he’s such a nice God, he’d let you off the hook? Better think this one through from the beginning. God is kind, but he’s not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life change.” (Romans 2:4, TM)
“I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I stain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.” (Philippians 3:13-14, NLT)
“I’m here inviting outsiders, not insiders – an invitation to a changed life, changed inside and out.” (Luke 5:32, TM)
