“Questions from Nancy”

Luke 20:9—18

Pastor George Cargill

Focus: Luke 20:13 “What shall I do? I will send my beloved son…”

1.  If God is all knowing, meaning he knows every decision every human in the world will make, why does he still create beings whom he knows will end up in Hell anyways?

2.  If God loves everybody equally, why do only some humans get to spend eternity with him?  Why doesn’t he keep giving chances?

3.  Why does he take people who are not ready?

A.  God      created    freedom   for mankind so that He might have a glorious harvest.

"A man planted a vineyard and rented it out to vine-growers, and went on a journey for a long time.  And at the harvest time he sent a slave to the vine-growers, in order that they might give him some of the produce of the vineyard;

B.  God   expects        repentance    from free thinking humans.

…at the harvest time he sent a slave to the vine-growers…And he proceeded to send another slave… "And he proceeded to send a third…"And the owner of the vineyard said, `What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.'

C.  God      gives            chances   whether life is long or short.

17 But He looked at them and said, "What then is this that is written,

  `THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED,

  THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone'?

  18 "Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust."

Whether from this point we have years, days or hours…

JESUS IS THE CORNERSTONE OF OUR LIFE.
